The Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary established the Justice and Peace Centre at Chigwell, to promote reflection, education and action for justice, peace and sustainable development among sisters, associate and auxiliary networks, and other organizations, religious or other, who share our values and goals.
We work to transform unjust social, political, economic and ecclesial structures, particularly those oppressing women, children and the vulnerable and marginalized people with whom the sisters are engaged, in situations of poverty and suffering around the world.
Consistent with the vision of the congregational founder, Victor Braun, JPIC spirituality and theology inspire all aspects of the vocation, formation and apostolic life and work/mission pf today’s congregation.
The Justice and Peace Centre exists to assist, in concrete ways, the translation of vision to reality.
