The Soup Run is made up of two groups of volunteers from the Parish. We go out every two weeks, alternating groups. We accept donations of food (sandwiches, cakes/biscuits, fruit, tins of food etc) from the Parish every two weeks. A Local bakery supplies us with sandwiches and cakes. Donations of clothes (mainly for men) and also blankets, sleeping bags and toiletries would be gratefully received. Notification of when we are due to go out can be found in the newsletter or from the Parish Office.
Every two weeks we meet at the Becket Centre between 7.00 and 8.00 pm to prepare for ‘the Run’. Trinity School kindly provide us with their school van which we load with food, clothes and drinks (tea/juice) and take these up to Lincolns Inn near Holborn in the City. Once there we distribute our food and clothes and spend time chatting and getting to know our customers. We have many ‘regulars’ who we have got to know really well over the years, and of course we are always meeting new customers.
